Luca Giannini was born in Bologna on June 21st 1972 from her mother, a fashion
designer, and his father, an engineer. After obtaining a degree in environmental
engineering at the University of Bologna, he moved to Rome where he attended
courses in painting, sculpture and engraving at the RUFA Academy.
In 2007 he won the 11th "Massenzio" International Prize and was selected in
YoungBlood 07 - Annual of the Italian talents awarded in the world.
In the following years, he got interested in photography and interior architecture.
In Sicily he founded Anime a Sud, which is a project of architectural recovery of
ancient abandoned dwellings reconverted into niche receptive structures, which
combine art, design and ecology.
His artistic research investigates the relationship between art and nature, addressing
issues of ecological and social footprint.
His exhibitions are held in important public spaces and private galleries, and his
works are included in Italian and foreign private and corporate collections.
He currently lives and works in Rome.
